Questions owners ask us

Will callers know they are talking to an AI?

Yes. Ava introduces herself as the business’s virtual assistant, and answers honestly if anyone asks. Callers who want a person can be transferred or get a callback.

Do I keep my phone number?

Yes. You forward calls to Ava from your existing line: all calls, only after hours, or only when nobody picks up within a few rings. You can switch forwarding off at any time.

Which calendar or booking software does she work with?

Ava books directly through Cal.com, which also syncs with Google Calendar and Outlook. If you run bookings in other software, such as Vagaro, Boulevard, Dentrix, Jobber or ServiceTitan, Ava takes the booking request with every detail and texts it to your team to confirm while we look at connecting your system. We’ll tell you exactly how it works for you on the setup call.

What happens when Ava doesn’t know the answer?

She says so, takes a message with the caller’s details and texts it to you straight away, or transfers the call on the Growth plan. She never makes up a price or a policy.

Are calls recorded?

Ava tells every caller the call may be recorded, which covers states that require both parties to consent. Recordings and transcripts are shared only with you, and we delete them on request.

Is Callvale HIPAA compliant?

Not today, and we won’t claim it. Ava books appointments and takes contact details; she does not take medical histories on the phone. If your practice needs a signed BAA, tell us before you sign up.

How fast can I go live?

Plan on going live within a week of your setup call. The setup call takes about an hour.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Plans are month to month. Email us and Ava stops answering at the end of your billing month.
